Welcome to the Home of Prison Dentistry

Please forgive our appearance at the moment.  Our website is undergoing a major update and it has been a little bit more complicated and time consuming than anticipated!  We hope to have the site up and running by the end of November.  In the meantime, here is info on a couple of items for which we've been receiving emails:

2012 Annual Conference

"Managing the Impossible" is the theme of this year's conference which will take place on Friday, 3 February 2012, at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.  It looks to be a varied and exciting programme with something for everybody.  The full programme will be announced shortly once we have confirmation from all our proposed speakers.  As usual, all members and prisons will be receiving a flyer through the post together with booking form.  Alternatively, the booking form will be available for download on the website in early December.

Because the Annual General Meeting has always been a bit of a rush at the end of the conference, we have decided that in 2012 the AGM will be held on the Thursday evening just before the annual dinner.  Details of the agenda will be sent beforehand.

South of England Networking & Study Group Meeting

The next meeting will be held at the Engineer's House in Bristol on Thursday, 24 November, from 2:00-6:00pm.  This meeting is open to anyone who works in a secure environment.  If you have not already registered and wish to do so, please send an email to registration@napduk.org.

Other Meetings that may be of interest

British Society for Disability and Oral Health (BSDH) will be holding its winter conference on Friday, 2 December, at the School of Oriental and African Studies, Russell Square, London.  The title for the conference is "Medical Problems in Dentistry 2."  If anyone is interested in attending and wants further details, click here.

The Future of NHS Dentistry will present delegates with an opportunity to gain insight into the new dental reforms and their practical implications.  The programme looks interesting, and details can be found here.
